It’s coming up fast! The 9th Annual Broadleaf Writers Conference is September 21-22 in downtown Decatur, Georgia, at the Decatur Library. Go to the website for full info and registration. This is a fun and illuminating weekend, where you’ll meet fellow writers and learn some great tips from experienced authors, agents, and editors.
I was one of the founding board members of the Broadleaf Writers Association, and I just can’t help sticking around and helping out with each year’s conference. Please come, say hi, and hang out with wordsmiths like you!
I aim to be at StokerCon this year, in Providence RI (March 1-4). I’ve got some panels to speak on, as well as a live tabletop Call of Cthulhu game! See you there.
Word Games: Writing Fiction vs. Games (Moderator: Danielle DeLisle)
6:00PM THURSDAY
How do writing fiction and writing games differ? How are they the same? Map out the Venn diagram of game writing with our panelists.
The Doom That Came to Providence: Call of Cthulhu Live RPG (Moderator: Bill Bridges)
10:00 am FRIDAY
Bill Bridges leads a brave group of Stoker Con panelists through a live tabletop RPG game of Call of Cthulhu. Something’s not right in Providence! Can the players solve the mystery before they all go stark-raving mad?
Roll Initiative: Horror Gaming for the Brave (Moderator: Danielle DeLisle)
1:00 pm FRIDAY
Want to try horror gaming but don’t know where to start? This is the panel for you! Find out what types of games are out there and which ones are best for beginners.
I have a new story out in the Mage: the Ascension fiction anthology, Truth Beyond Paradox. My story is titled “The Girl Who Remembered Tomorrow.” (If you’re a fan of Doc Eon, you’ll especially want to check it out.) You can buy it here.
I am excited to announce the arrival of a new organization dedicated to helping writers write — the Broadleaf Writers Association! Go to the BWA website for more information. I’ve got skin in the game here, since I’m helping out on the board of directors as we launch this group and prepare for our first writers conference in September, 2016. Save the date – September 24-25 – and please join us then! Until then, happy writing!
