Calling all Spanish Werewolves (and Hazat householders)…

Standard

(Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled. No tilting at windmills on the Spanish plains for me.)

I will be in Madrid, Spain, this November 20-21 for TenebraeCon. This World of Darkness convention will celebrate the Spanish edition of Werewolf: the Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Edition.

But don’t despair, Fading Suns faithful! There will soon be a Spanish edition of Fading Suns, so Spain is being very good to me.

The Horror…the World Horror Convention…

Standard

I’ll be at the World Horror Convention here in Atlanta on May 7-10 at the Marriott Marque. That hotel will be familiar to Dragon Con attendees.

This is my first World Horror in many years. I used to go routinely when I worked for White Wolf and we had a healthy fiction publishing department, but for the last few years I’ve missed it due to more involvement in the computer gaming world, and life issues. I’m glad it’s in Atlanta this year, which is the only thing allowing me to attend.

I’m curious just how many old timers who I knew in the ’90s will be there. I recognize some names on the attendees list, but there’s a whole lot of other names that I don’t know — yet. I hope to get to know some of them.

If anybody reading this is also going and has any advice on what to do this year, lemme know.

Intellectual Property in Gaming panel

Standard

Join me April 14 at the Atlanta Media Campus for a panel on Intellectual Property (IP) in gaming. This is part of the Georgia Game Developers Association (GGDA) meeting, a great place to meet game devs and find out more about who’s making games in Georgia.

I’ll be joined on the panel by Paul Jenkins and Spencer Reeve. More details and driving directions here.

Networking begins at 6pm. The panel is at 7pm until 8pm, after which there’ll be another chance to network and hang out with game makers.

Join me at SIEGE for the “Writing for Games” panel

Standard

Come on out this week — Friday, Oct. 3 —  to SIEGE, Atlanta’s own game development conference. I’ll be moderating a panel on game writing:

Writing for Games (Friday, Oct. 3, 7:00 pm)

You’ve heard the fancy words — “Narrative Design,” “Content Designer” — but what do they mean? How does one write using visuals, sounds, and actions rather than words? From cut-scene cinematics to NPC quest dialogue to world lore journals to level design and more, content designers discuss the indispensable role of storytellers and worldbuilding in an interactive medium.

Join Brian Freyermuth, Paul Jenkins, Nathan Knack, Zoe Quinn, Eddy Webb, and me (the moderator), for the most awesome panel ever.
